nicholasPCF
i can understand the reason (earn some revenue to support miro) behind what you did i just think that it was poorly executed and that it can be fixed/corrected if somebody pointed it out, which i did.
i hope that you can get that part right and proper because miro is a good idea/program and it should continue, improve and prosper.

After thought: Sorry if i sounded like a conspiracy nut in my last comment, hope you got my point though

( i copied this comment from reply to Jesse, replys seem to be hidden samewhat so i put the it here too, and since this is a reply to nicholasPCF also )

wow, i didn't even see that...
Was it added recently, like after the complaints ?

That text is too small and in the wrong place.
Was it placed there so people wouldn't see it ?
What person in there right mind can't see that that text is in the wrong place ?
Seems to be placed on that page so people _will_ miss it. I am beginning to trust miro less and less..

I mean as soon as the 'save to' dialog appears i choose a folder, click save and close that web tab/window _without_ reading anything on that page.
And i think that many people does the same thing.
The only time i read that page is when the download doesn't start.

That text should be place on the _main_ download page ( <a href="http://www.getmiro.com/download/" target="_blank">http://www.getmiro.com/download/</a> )
and in a way to gets the users attention.

Beginning with fine print micro-sized text in the wrong place, oboy, are you becoming money hungry and/or just plain evil ?
Are you going to close the source code too and put a price on miro ?

It seems you are going in that direction...

James-- OpenCandy is a service that we have been experimenting with to earn some revenue to support Miro development. They've had heard the complaints about privacy and I think have moved in the right direction, but we are currently re-evaluating our relationship and may make some changes shortly. I completely understand your concerns and I think you are asking the right questions, issues that we are also concerned about. Finding the right types of revenue opportunities that let us continue our work, but don't conflict with our mission is a challenge, and we're always trying to do better.

That is an amazon S3 address based upon my lookup, so that is probably where PCF is purchasing filespace from Amazon's S3 fileservice see <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_S3" target="_blank">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_S3</a>

Anyways, I'm not one of the programmers just thought I'd try to answer the question.
