Why Most Small Businesses Don’t Work And What To Do About It

Early this week The Audio Book Guide, launched the audio book “The E Myth Revisited” by Michael E.Gerber– a product intended to guide novices and experts alike in getting massive amounts of success in their small businesses.
In this digital edition of the totally revised underground bestseller The E-Myth, Michael Gerber dispels the myths surrounding starting your own business and shows how commonplace assumptions can get in the way of running a business. He walks you through the steps in the life of a business— from entrepreneurial infancy, through adolescent growing pains, to the mature entrepreneurial perspective, the guiding light of all businesses that succeed— and shows how to apply the lessons of franchising to any business, whether or not it is a franchise. Finally, Gerber draws the vital, often overlooked distinction between working on your business and working in your business. After you have listened to The E-Myth Revisited, you will truly be able to grow your business in a predictable and productive way.
Michael Gerber, as the Founder and Chairman of E-Myth Worldwide, has originated and developed his own unique form of small business reengineering processes on behalf of his more than 25, 000 small business clients. This book is the culmination of his work and experiences over the past 24 years.
“….what we have also discovered is that the people who own small businesses in this country work far more than they should for the return they’re getting. Indeed, the problem is not tha the owners of a small business in this country don’t work; the problem is they’re doing the wrong work,” says Gerber. The E Myth revised dispells the entrepreneurial myth to direct small business owners to a “turn-key revolution” in order “to be working on your business, not in it.”
As Fortune says, “Gerber loves to exhort people to develop powerful visions for their companies.” In addition, “Gerber’ powerful insights has given thousands of entrepeneurs new control over their businesses…. ” exclaims Success Magazine
The Audio Book Guide is the same company that recently launched The Audio Book Guide Club (www.theaudiobookguide.com). The Club offers member’s only discounts on audio books, Alerts on new releases, and free ebooks. From previews and initial reports it looks like The Audio Book Guide Club is going to fulfill every promise it makes and then some.

Marty - there is actually an open ticket (https://develop.participatoryculture.org/trac/democracy/ticket/5153) regarding this. It has something to do with your profiles.

You can try what worked for another user to get things working again.

i backed up the (entire) contents of my XP "application data...\democracy player" folder and then did as you suggested and manually deleted every DP-related folder on my system. then i re-installed DP 9.2.2 with the standard downloaded installer. opened the app, and it appeared to be working fine.

Then i decided to try an experiment. first i tried replacing the re-install's default "appdata...\database" folder with the old one i'd backed up before flushing DP. i opened DP and - bingo! - my old channel subscriptions were there.

Marty-- I'm sorry to hear that... we'll look into it. In the meantime, maybe you can see if our newest testing version works:

Feb 3, 2007... 5 minutes later

Just installed the previous version, 0.9.2.1 and it does the same exact thing. Yes, I uninstalled 0.9.2.2 first. Could it be the kind of video card I have in my notebook? It is a Dell Inspiron 6400 with ATI video card.

Feb 3, 2007

Just got a new notebook first week in January. Downloaded and installed Democracy-0.9.2.2 on same day. It only worked fine the first time it ran. Every since, it stays in a little rectangle in the upper left corner of the screen and can not be resized. Why did it work fine for a short while and then stopped? BROKEN!
