New Channel Guide Features
Aross, our man from way back in the day, has been fixing up and improving the Democracy Channel Guide. Just moments ago, he made 2 new features live.
The first is channel reviews. You can now submit a review for a channel and you can rate reviews that other people submit. This should make it easier to get a sense of what a channel is really all about. Try it– you can be the first review of the channel of your choice.
Second, we’ve been seeing a growing influx of channels in non-english languages. So we added a new link in the nav on the side called ‘More Languages’, which will let you see what’s out there. Someday, when we have even more non-english channels listed, we’ll probably have full front-pages for each language.
Also, and this is more of a usability tweak, when you load the front page we will randomly select which of the category tabs are selected on those 2 rows of channels in the center of the page. That way, you’re more likely to run across something interesting that you didn’t expect, instead of just seeing ‘animation’ and ‘movies’ everytime you go to the Guide.
In addition to the new features, aross has been fixing a ton of bugs in the Guide. If you still run across any problems, let us know and we’ll get them fixed.
As always, you can view the Guide in a browser, Democracy Channel Guide, but it’s mostly built for you to use inside Democracy Player.
